I'm writing this blog to record my successes and struggles as an improviser and a teacher as well as a way to work out my thoughts and opinions on things that pop up during rehearsals, performances, or classes. Basically I'm sitting in front of a blank screen and asking myself what I want to talk about at that moment. I'm happy to receive any ideas for a post or any questions you'd like me to answer, but generally you'll find me muddling through the way only an improviser tends to make it.
This Blog, What Does It Do?
Edd Garcia is my name and live performance is my game. I have a B.A. in theatre performance from Austin Peay State University and I've been professionally improvising with the Nashville Improv Company since May of 2013. I teach theatre to young people through the Community School of the Arts at Austin Peay and I was also a teaching artist at Lexington Children's Theatre during the Summer of 2010.
